Frequently asked questions
Why choose me?
I believe pain relief and relaxation shouldn’t feel clinical or impersonal. A cold, echoey room with a paper-covered treatment table can feel more like a doctor’s office than a place of healing. Instead, I offer effective, therapeutic clinical treatments for pain relief, as well as deeply relaxing massages, all in a warm, calming, and safe environment. My goal is to create a space where your body can fully sink into a parasympathetic state of relaxation—the state in which true healing begins. By soothing the nervous system, we encourage the body’s natural healing processes, supporting not only pain relief but also emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
Do you only work with hip or back pain?
I am trained to work with the whole body and can assist with any area experiencing pain or discomfort. However, I specialise in lower back and hip pain, where my expertise allows me to provide focused, effective care. Please highlight your specific needs when completing the intake form so I can tailor the treatment to your concerns.
What are the differences between Back to Form and your relaxing treatments?
Whilst my other treatments focus on relaxation and general stress relief Back to Form goes beyond relaxation using advanced clinical and sports massage techniques to provide a results-driven therapy aimed at resolving persistent pain issues. It is by far the most popular treatment I offer, each session is customised to address your specific pain points, improve mobility, and promote long-term healing. Self care exercises are given when completing a treatment plan. Think of it as therapeutic care with a focus on physical recovery and function.
How often should I have treatments?
For best results, regular treatments are recommended. A 6-session treatment plan is often ideal to achieve significant progress, with the initial sessions taken weekly before moving further apart to monthly. If your pain is long term you may need more. Once your initial goals are met regular maintenance treatments are recommended to help sustain your results and prevent pain from returning.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in and ensure you have something warm to wear after the session. You will be asked to remove clothing down to your underwear for treatment, but you will always be draped appropriately to ensure your privacy and comfort.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
I kindly request 48 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, or if you miss your appointment, the full session fee will be charged. If you’re unable to attend, you can choose to gift your treatment to a friend, partner or family member instead.
Does the treatment hurt?
While the techniques used can sometimes feel intense, they are always applied within your comfort level. Communication is key, and I will adjust the pressure and techniques to ensure your experience is both effective and comfortable. Many clients report feeling “good pain” that leads to a sense of relief and release.
How can I book an appointment?
You can book your appointment online, by phone, or via email. Please feel free to Book A Call with me if you would like to discuss which treatment would be best for you.
Can I get my costs reimbursed?
As a fully insured massage therapist with recognised qualifications, I am a member of two nationwide regulatory bodies in soft tissue techniques. If you have private healthcare either personal or at your work place you may be able to get some or all of your treatment costs with me reimbursed.
